Sunday Worship
If proper worship is my entire life as a living sacrifice to God, what are Sundays all about?
“Sunday Worship is for receiving…I am preached to, I am absolved, I am reminded of God’s great acts in prayer and praise, and I am fed. I receive the waterfall of God’s love. I throw it back up in praise, and it comes crashing right down upon me.”
Sunday Worship feeds us and builds us up for the rest of the week. We worship God receiving his Word and Sacraments so that we are equipped to worship him the rest of the week with our lives of service.
We receive his love which flows through us to those around us.
Come as you are!
God’s house is for all who need a Savior. That means everyone! Whatever hurdles might discourage you from coming, it is our goal that you will be welcomed no matter who you are, no matter what your background is, no matter what your struggles are. We want to share Jesus’ love and forgiveness with each person who walks through our doors. “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” That includes all of us! We rejoice that in Jesus we have the Savior we need!
What to expect
At St. Peter, each of our services is about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes long. We confess our sins, receive forgiveness, read scripture, hear it applied to our lives in a sermon, and respond with prayers and songs that are throughout the worship. We also have a special children’s message before the sermon. Worship at St. Peter is for the whole family.
Our 9 am English service is entirely in English with a printed Spanish translation of the entire service. The readings are also available in the Karen language as well.
Our 11:30 am Spanish bilingual service is mostly in Spanish with a printed English translation of the entire service. However, the children’s message is in English and the sermon is spoken bilingually in Spanish and in English.
Bible Class & Sunday School
We also have an Adult Bible class (8th grade - adults) and Sunday school (0-7th grade) between the services from 10:30 - 11:15 am. All are invited! Stay after the English service or come early for the Spanish service and you will have a wonderful opportunity to dive deeper into God’s Word and discuss it with others.
Special Rites & Celebrations
We have the following special rites and services at St. Peter. Whether it is the sacrament of Baptism that we offer to all, the rite of confirmation which is for members who desire the sacrament of Holy Communion, or any of the other rites below, please click on the image to learn more about how we celebrate each one at St. Peter.
